Practical Considerations
A consideration for schools is whether students can develop the depth of critical analysis and extended essay writing required at A Level, particularly when responding to a range of literary texts and unseen material. This course develops these skills across all four examination papers, with Paper 2 providing specific preparation for the analysis of unseen texts. Throughout the course, students build their ability to interpret, evaluate and write confidently about literature.
Students complete regular assignments requiring close reading, textual analysis and the development of well-supported arguments. Teacher feedback is aligned with Cambridge mark schemes, focusing on analytical precision, effective use of textual evidence and the construction of clear, coherent responses, ensuring students are well prepared for high-level assessment.
