Benefits for bursars

Overview

Blended Learning is a potentially transformative educational model - not only for educators and students - but also for Bursars and those responsible for budget allocation and resource management within the School.

Cost savings

One of the key benefits for Bursars – particularly in international schools – lies in the potential cost savings associated with hybrid learning.

Bringing on board new teaching staff often involves a very wide range of costs on top of the salaries – including the cost of recruitment, training, benefits and accommodation.

By using a hybrid learning approach the school can offer additional subjects without incurring the often substantial extra cost of hiring new teachers.

Teacher shortages

Scalability

Using a hybrid learning approach the school can expand its student base without the need to hire additional teaching staff.

This scalability not only keeps operational costs under control but may also allow the school to generate additional revenue streams by reaching a wider audience – transcending the geographical limitations of the school.

Case study

Finding the right provider proved challenging for us. As a small school some of the online tutoring providers would not accept us due to it not being financially viable for them. Wolsey Hall has allowed us to offer A Level studies alongside our Youth Training Scheme. We can provide further opportunities for our older students, giving them a pathway into higher education if they so wish. This has resulted in student aspirations rising across the school and we’re seeing younger students talking about A level studies too.
