Overview

Support the delivery of an advanced computing pathway with Cambridge International AS & A Level Computer Science (9618), enabling schools to offer a rigorous technical subject where specialist teaching capacity or resources are limited. Wolsey Hall for Schools delivers the full Cambridge syllabus through a structured, school supported model integrated into Sixth Form timetables. The course develops both theoretical understanding and programming capability, ensuring students are prepared for the analytical and problem solving demands of Cambridge A Level assessment and further study.

 


 

Course assessment information:

Assessment: Students complete AS examinations at the end of Year 1 and A Level examinations at the end of Year 2, combining theoretical and programming focused papers. Progress is supported through regular teacher marked assignments, aligned to Cambridge assessment objectives and focused on both written and practical problem solving.

AS Level:  

Paper 1 – Theory Fundamentals 

Paper 2 – Fundamental Problem-solving and Programming Skills

 

A Level:  

Paper 4 – Advanced Theory

Paper 5 – Further Problem-solving and Programming Skills

What level of prior experience is required for A Level Computer Science?

What technology do students need?

Students will need access to a laptop or other suitable device, along with a reliable internet connection to access the online learning platform. We also recommend access to a printer where possible.

No. We offer complete courses rather than short revision programmes, though every course includes structured assessment and mock exam practice to prepare students thoroughly for their examinations.
